Spooned & Spotted: Froot Loops with Winter Blast Marshmallows

6b7a1b45-1a47-40d8-9673-4adf11e54cdeIt’s beginning to look a lot like…Froot Loops! Everywhereeee you goooo!

While I can only sit and wish that the sky sprinkled drifts of colorful Froot Loops onto my lawn instead of snow (I’d much rather shovel the driveway with a spoon), I guess I can still be thankful that Kellogg’s is getting into the spirit of the season with this new winter variant of Froot Loops.

I haven’t been able to find this cereal in stores yet (though the snow has already arrived outside. *Grumble grumble*), but these were spotted by reader Marc P. Thanks as usual, Marc! Now what exactly are “Winter Blast Marshmallows?”

Are they minty toothpaste flavored? (Gee, I sure hope not.)

Are they snickerdoodle flavored? (Gee, I sure hope so.)

Are they just plain ol’ cereal marshmallows recolored to look like snowballs? (Gee…that’s probably the case.)

Regardless, I look forward to munching a bowlful of these with a mug of hot cocoa, a roaring fireplace, and A Christmas Story on infinite repeat (Froot Loops are a major award!).

  1. My local Harris teeter has the winter blast and the marshmallow ones that taste like berries. The winter blasts are amazing! I hope they see a larger release, my sister has unsuccessfully tried to find them in Massachusetts after I told her how great they are.

  2. It seems to me froot loops and marshmallows are going well together. (otherwise kelloggs wouldn’t promote them that much ^^)
But even with with “winter marshmallows” i don’t think i’ll get to like the taste of froot loops ^^

They ARE NOT! (yeah… they probably are…)
‘Cause it really looks like Sam just stole a few snow and ice crystal shaped marshmallows from Anna and Elsa! And there can’t be something plain or old when it probably was created by Elsa’s ice magic! 😉

    • While they must be successful (after both regular marshmallows and the skeleton marshmallows), I absolute cannot understand the fascination with Froot Loops and marshmallows! I love Froot Loops, but the vanilla sugar of the ‘mallows does not jive well with the fruitiness, in my opinion.

      • hm… i’m still curious if the US version of froot loops is totally different from our version here in germany… ’cause in my opinion froot loops just taste like honey rings with a hint (a very small one) of citrit acid in the aftertaste… and not fruity at all.
But i think i will never know (except there will be a time were i can get my hands on them while enjoing one of the amazing breakfast buffets in the us), ’cause even the small single serve cups are “too expensive” to buy for something you know you don’t like ^^ xD

btw i’m with you, just the imagination of fruity cereal with overly sweet marshmallows… hm… not sure… i’m not even sure the idea to add marshmallows to apple jack (which should be equally popular) was a smart move (taste wise)

        ^^
