Spooned & Spotted: Star Wars Cereal Boxes from Post Canada and General Mills

Man, I’m not sure which I’m more excited for anymore: the holiday season, or the holi-Dagobah season.

The Shreddies box above was spotted by Facebook user Jas Awid (thanks, Jas!), but Post Foods Canada has released this photo of all 7 boxes to their Facebook page.

A lot of great artwork choices here. I particularly like how Honeycomb is apparently a Sith’s cereal of choice (“good, good. Let the milk flow through you!”). Though I am a bit sad that they didn’t upgrade Alpha-Bits to “Alphanumeric-Bits” for this edition. I mean, how else are you gonna spell out R2D2’s name in crunchy oat pieces?

But for Americans like me, there’s no need to cry big Wookie tears just yet. Help us, General Mills: you’re our only hope!IMG_0132

That’s right, as we mentioned before, General Mills has released its own line of Star Wars remix boxes. From a Princess Leia Trix Rabbit (Might have worked better for Kellogg’s cinnamon bun-shaped Cinnabon cereal) to Cinnamon Toast Crunch TIE Fighters, the whole suite can be viewed on General Mills’ blog.

Plus, each box has a plastic droid viewer inside. So if you want to recreate the scene where Uncle Owen buys the movie’s famous droids from Jawas, you can liberate these boxed bots from their cardboard prisons, too. If only the boxes were made to look like Sandcrawlers.

However, I’ve also read rumors that, in addition to the four boxes in that link, there is also a limited edition Cookie Crisp box featuring Chip the Wolf as a Stormtrooper. So if you happen to have spotted that box, we’d love to see pictures!

Hey, isn’t Chip a little furry for a Stormtrooper?
