Bite-Sized Review: Ghostbusters Cereal

Look, I wanted to write a full post about this one, but it…it did not give me much to go on. Skip it, ‘nough said.

  1. Well, that’s a bummer. This was like the one new cereal release I was looking forward to the most this year. I should’ve known better to get my hopes up. Most new cereal releases today are like 8 times out of 10 mediocre cereals.

I’m at least hoping the Mixed Berry Twinkies coming out for the movie promotion are decent.

    • Ditto. With the exception of Minecraft, I can’t think of a licensed cereal that hasn’t been garbage, but I was naively hoping Ghostbusters would be something new and different…I mean, it’s Ghostbusters, for crying out loud. Treat it right! At least now I know to skip it. What a waste.

      • It’s General Mills, therefore I knew it would be flavorless, pure corn with an unpleasant texture. Not even worth getting just for the box. They can make good cereals, but haven’t in about twenty years now… mainly due to their aversion to mixing in any cereal grains that are more expensive/tasty/nutritious than corn.

      • Was the Minecraft cereal good? I’ve seen it a few times at some stores, but I wasn’t sure if that would be another mediocre cereal or not. Plus, I was only able to find Family Size boxes, so I didn’t want to try it and not like it and be stuck with a large box of it.

          • I tried a box of the Minecraft cereal. I thought it was just mediocre. The cinnamon flavored oat pieces kind of left a blah aftertaste in my mouth, bordering on tasting a little cardboardy. I usually like Oat cereals in general though. Thanks for recommending anyway. That’s like the first new cereal I’ve tried in a few months now since last Summer.

              • No problem. Yeah, that’s true. At least the cereal has marbits though. Thanks for recommending anyway. Did you happen to try the Little Debbie Oatmeal Pie cereal? I heard that’s made with oats as an ingredient.

        • Yeah, I remember liking that cereal when I tried it. I thought it was finally something new after all of these years of rebranded same cereal. It was pieces like cinnimon toast crunch, but without the powdered sugar and just banana and berry flavored if I’m remembering it correctly. It was a good release. Better than the other Minions cereal that came after it, which was like the typical corn puffs with marshmallow combination that’s extremely played out at this point.
